THE StORY BEHIND LUCID
I’m France Foster, an experienced translator and marketing professional. The name Lucid was inspired by my maiden name, Luce, and it is also a tribute to my father who passed away in 2016. Lucid signifies “expressed clearly, easy to understand”, just as translated text should be! Lucid also means “bright or luminous”. Bringing this business to life has been a dream of mine and its success is bright and luminous. I’d also like to think that it describes ME as a person.
I grew up in a small town of the Acadian peninsula, in northeastern New Brunswick. My native language is French and I learned English very young. My French high school teacher recommended that I continue my advanced studies in languages, but I didn’t follow his recommendations! Yet, years later, I find myself translating for the companies I worked for. I have come full circle.
As an experienced translator for healthcare businesses for more than 20 years, I’m also proudly accredited with an Honours certificate from Humber College for “French Translation in the Workplace”. The PLUS in my business name is for content creation, proofreading and copy editing. Additionally, I offer audio translation for presentations and videos – I have created many PowerPoint Presentations with voice over, in English and French.
Friends and colleagues describe me as dedicated, loyal, competent and hard-working. I provide services designed to help YOU capture new clients through education and clear communication.
HOW I GOT STARTED
As a marketing and sales professional for an international healthcare company, I have been translating office and technical documents, marketing pieces and campaigns, websites and social media posts for over 20 years. I love the challenge and would love to help YOU!
